DALI and DALI-2 Lighting Control Bus Cable
This 16 AWG, 2-conductor cable is a practical option for DALI and DALI-2 lighting-control bus wiring when its CMP plenum-rated rating, conductor size, run length, and installation method meet the project requirements and local electrical code. DALI carries bus power and digital communication on one adjacent pair, and the bus connection is polarity-insensitive.
Run-length guidance: The DALI Alliance recommends 1.5 mm² (15 AWG) two-core cable for up to 300 m (984 ft) between the two farthest devices at the maximum 250 mA bus current. This 16 AWG cable is slightly smaller than the recommended 1.5 mm² conductor, so full-distance use should be confirmed by the system designer based on bus current and voltage drop.
Important: This is bulk cable suitable for DALI bus applications; it is not a DALI-2 certified control device. Use it for the control bus, not branch-circuit power. Verify CMP plenum-rated, raceway, separation, and local-code requirements, especially near mains wiring.
