Choosing DALI Control Cable

The DALI Alliance recommends standard 1.5 mm² (15 AWG) two-core cable for up to 300 m (984 ft) between the two farthest devices at the maximum 250 mA bus current. Use 14 AWG for the strongest long-run option in this collection. Use 16 AWG or 18 AWG only where the system designer confirms the run length, bus current, voltage drop, and terminal capacity.

Riser and plenum options are available. These bulk cables are suitable for DALI bus applications but are not DALI-2 certified control devices. Verify the required jacket rating, installation method, separation from mains wiring, and all local electrical-code requirements before installation.
