Choose the plug by conductor and jacket fit
The 0.037–0.042 in range is the diameter over each conductor’s insulation, not the overall cable diameter. This part accepts stranded conductors only. Confirm the cable’s minimum and maximum insulation diameters, strand construction, jacket diameter and shield arrangement before selecting a termination.
The jacket must be securely retained by the internal latch, and the cable shield must make the specified contact with the plug shell. Do not assume that a cable qualifies merely because its nominal wire gauge or Category label matches.
Termination and matched tooling
Use the matched Sentinel dual load bars and the termination procedure for this exact plug. Drawing SD300112 A6 identifies Sentinel hand-tool configurations 900005 tool with 900216 die and 900000 / 900208-1. Confirm the complete tool and installed die configuration with RF-AV before ordering tooling. A tool frame number alone does not establish plug compatibility.
The linked 111-series instruction sheet illustrates cable preparation, braid placement, conductor ordering, load-bar insertion and jacket retention. Its separate C-version steps apply only to the designated C-version plugs. Use the current LA4-specific procedure for final setup.
Category performance and assembly checks
Sentinel identifies this plug for Cat 6/6A applications. Finished-cord performance depends on the selected cable, pair preparation, matched tooling and workmanship. A plug component specification does not certify a completed cable assembly. Verify the required pinout, shorts/opens, shield continuity and any application-specific performance requirements after termination.

No. Sentinel specifies stranded conductors only for 111S08080095LA4.
Does the insulation-diameter range describe the whole cable?
